About this app

Built by me, a working journeyman lineman, for linemen and their apprentices. The XFMR Lab simulates distribution transformer banks driven by your own wiring. The metering, fusing, and faulting all behave the way you'd expect in the field.

• Advanced Quiz: You're provided with the job-site info and need to pick the right nameplate and coil setup, then wire it.
• Bank ID: A beginner's quiz tied into the new XFMR Training lesson plan. The user is provided with different primary and secondary wirings and must correctly identify them.

Updating my review because I'm an idiot. I originally thought the Delta secondary configurations didn't work. Yeah, it was my fault. Don't forget to remove your grounding straps on the secondary bushings you're not center tapping. This is an awesome app for anyone learning how to independently wire up transformer banks.

3 phase wye Delta doesn't seem to be working.. the fuses always blow even when connected properly. Says secondaries voltages incorrect even though you wired as the app says. Overall great app for testing out wiring. Looks like everything worked fine yesterday. But all 3 phase connections seem to not be working today.

really like the app very informative, however all the delta banks blow the fuse even when wired properly. We banks work as they should, it is frustrating hopefully they can fix that.
