RecForge II is a professional audio recorder and dictaphone for Android, built for people who need control over how sound is captured — not just a red button.

Most voice recorder apps hand your audio to the system and hope for the best. RecForge II lets you set the gain yourself, switch off Automatic Gain Control, pick your codec and sample rate, and check your levels before you hit record. What you hear is what you get.

RecForge II is not a call recorder and does not record phone calls.
Recording quality depends on your device's microphone and on the audio inputs Android exposes; AGC control and manual gain are not available on every device.

why did yall discontinue Recforg 1? I loved it. It was simple, and extremely efficient. My fav feature was the ability to add on to a recording. Technology is just getting worse. I hate it. I used yall for almost 2 decades, but its time to move on. I loved what we had but, so long, and thanks for the free fish. 👍

paid for RecForge and used it successfully in the past. On current Android versions, the app can no longer delete, import, or manage existing recordings reliably, and the library duplicates endlessly. After clearing storage, there’s no way to load existing files at all. I understand Android storage restrictions, but this makes the app unusable for my workflow. Just wanted to give clear feedback from a paid user. Thank you.

I love this app and have been using it for the past 5 years. I use it to record all of my tracks for my music. I have one recent problem though, it automatically made most of my recordings unplayable files.. "unable to open file" pretty much deleted them. I recorded some funny times with friends and I can never listen to the recordings again it seems.

What’s new

• Fixed: an interrupted conversion or edit left an incomplete file under the finished file's name. You could delete the original believing it had worked.
• Fixed: on some installations the app would not start at all.
• Fixed: a waveform that went flat stayed flat forever. It now rebuilds itself.
• Fixed: crashes when setting a ringtone, when recording from the notification, and during conversion.
• Opening a file no longer freezes the app.
