Are you going to buy a used car – or just wondering who “owns” the car in front of you in the queue? With Bil Info you can search by registration number or chassis number (VIN) and get all public vehicle information in one place. Completely free.

🚗 EVERYTHING ABOUT THE VEHICLE – IN ONE PLACE
The overview shows the most important things with green and red indicators:
• Make, model, color, vehicle group and number of seats
• Registration status and date of first registration
• Chassis number (VIN) with one-touch copying

✅ EU CHECK
See when the vehicle was last approved, and the deadline for the next EU check. The app clearly warns if the deadline has been exceeded – then the car may be impounded.

⚠️ LIENS – IMPORTANT BEFORE BUYING A USED CAR
The app checks the Movable Property Register at Brønnøysund Registers for registered liens such as sales pledges, garnishments and leasing. If there is debt in the car, it is included in the purchase - Bil Info warns you BEFORE you pay.

🔧 FULL TECHNOLOGY
Fuel, engine performance (kW and hp), top speed, electric range and power consumption, CO2 emissions, curb weight, permissible total weight, payload and trailer weight with/without brakes.

💰 RE-REGISTRATION FEE
The app calculates the indicative re-registration fee when changing ownership according to current rates - so you know what the car exchange actually costs.

📷 LICENSE PLATE SCANNER
Point the camera at the license plate, and the app will read the registration number automatically. You can of course also enter the number yourself.

🏠 MY GARAGE
All searches are automatically saved in the garage. Pin your own cars at the top, add notes, and search for similar models for sale on FINN.no with one tap.

📡 DATA DIRECTLY FROM THE SOURCES
The searches are made directly from your device to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's Vehicle Register (vegvesen.no) and the Fixed Assets Register (brreg.no). The app does not have its own server and does not collect any personal data. Everything is only stored locally on the device.

Note: Owner information and mileage are not publicly available and require login to vegvesen.no (Your page). The Norwegian Public Roads Administration allows a maximum of 50 searches per hour from the same IP address. Bil Info is an independent app and is not affiliated with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration or the Brønnøysund Registers - in cases of doubt, the information from the registers applies.
