AskPDF lets you chat with PDF files. Open one, tap Summarize for a short overview, or ask a question about the text. Answers come from the document itself and point to page numbers where they can.
Contracts, lecture notes, research papers, manuals, reports: instead of scrolling fifty pages for one clause, ask and go straight to the right page.
SUMMARIZE IN ONE TAP
• PDF summary: a one-line summary plus 3–6 key points
• Page references where they help, so you can check the source
• The summary comes in your phone's language
ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT A DOCUMENT
• Type a question: "What is the notice period?", "Which methods did the authors use?"
• Answers use only the text of your PDF; if the document doesn't say, the app tells you so instead of guessing
• Page numbers are cited when possible
READ ANY PDF
• Open files from your phone, or send them to AskPDF with "Open with" or Share from your file manager, email or messenger
• Page-by-page reader; reading works offline
• Recent documents on the home screen, one tap to reopen
• Dark theme that follows your system
FREE DAILY ALLOWANCE
The free plan gives you 3 AI actions a day (a summary or a question each) and 60 in total on the free plan, with no sign-up. The counter resets each day, and there is no paywall in front of your first question.
ADS AND PRO
The free version shows ads. Pro lifts the free limits (a fair-use cap applies) and removes the ads. Choose a weekly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time in Google Play.
PRIVACY
Pages are rendered on your device. When you ask for a summary or an answer, the document's text is sent to our server and to an AI model provider to generate the reply. We do not store it; the PDF file itself stays on your phone. No account is needed.
FAQ
How do I talk to a PDF? Open it, type a question in the ask field and send it. Each question is answered on its own, so put the details you need into each one.
Does it work with scanned PDFs? Only if the PDF has a text layer. Image-only scans open in the reader but cannot be summarized.
Can I ask about a password-protected PDF? Not yet. Those files can't be opened.
What about very long documents? Summaries and answers are based on the first part of the text, roughly the first 60,000 characters.
Does reading need the internet? No. Summaries and questions do.
Useful when a 40-page contract arrives and you need the notice period before you sign.
