About this app
Aman Network (AmanNet) lets anyone in Algeria report an abandoned or uncapped well in under a minute, so it can be checked, ranked by risk and sealed before a child falls in.
An open well can sit unnoticed for years in a field, beside a road or behind houses. If you know where one is, your report puts it on record: a practical step for child safety where you live.
How it works
• Take a wide photo of the well from a safe distance.
• Confirm the location. The app shows the GPS accuracy, and you can adjust the point on the map.
• Answer three optional questions: what you saw, what is nearby (houses, a school, a place where children play) and whether you heard a small stone land.
• Send it and get a reference number.
Each report is checked and given a risk level, so the most dangerous wells come first.
Your name stays private
• Reporting never needs an account.
• Your name is never shown publicly and is never given to the landowner.
• The exact position is never published. The public sees confirmed wells by commune only, so the map never leads anyone to an open well.
• Signing in with Google is optional. Your reports are tied to your account only if you turn that on, to get them back on a new phone, and turning it off removes the link.
Wells near you
• See the confirmed wells in your wilaya, your commune first, with their risk level and status.
• Wells are shown by commune to protect the people who report; exact positions are for authorised people only.
Follow your reports
• My reports shows the public status of each report: received, confirmed, being secured, secured.
• Turn on a notification to be told when the status changes, on the phone that sent the report.
Works without a signal
• No network at the well? The report is saved on your phone and sends by itself when you are back online.
In Arabic, French and English, with a right-to-left layout in Arabic.
Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. The camera and your location are used to photograph and place the well, and to show the wells near you.
Important
Aman Network is not an emergency service and not a government service: it is not operated by, or affiliated with, the Civil Protection or any public authority. If someone is in danger right now, call the Civil Protection on 14.
For your safety, never go near the edge of a well, whether to take a photo or to answer a question.
