The National Chemistry Teaching Meeting (ENEQ) (www.eneq2016.ufsc.br) is the largest and most important event of the Commonwealth of the country Chemistry Teaching. It is a community made up of university research professors and basic education, as well as undergraduate students in chemistry graduate and basic education students, who gather mainly in the Education Division of the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ). The meeting takes place every two years, and this eighteenth meeting held in the city of Florianópolis (SC), 25 to 29 July 2016 on the premises of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). The promoting institutions are beyond the UFSC, the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), the University for Development of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), the State Institute of Education (IEE) and the Education Division of SBQ. We also have the valuable support of the Regional Council of Chemistry and CAPES

In the history of ENEQs we highlight the first edition in 1982, held at the Faculty of Education at Unicamp, coordinated by Professor Roseli Pacheco Schnetzler and by Prof. Maria Eunice Ribeiro Marcondes (USP). The last meeting was held in the city of Ouro Preto (MG), on the premises of the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) in August 2014, about 1,400 were presented (http://www.eneq2014.ufop.br)

The ENEQ has stimulated the search area in chemistry teaching and discussion teaching experience and training of chemistry teachers. During the event they will be discussed and published works in different formats: panels, conferences (national and international guests), round tables, conversation circles, conferences, thematic symposia and oral presentations. In addition, during the event will take place the traditional MOMADIQ shows courseware. The thematic lines of ENEQs constitute around the axes: teaching and learning - EAP; Teacher Training - FP; Didactic materials - MD; Language and Cognition - LC; Experimentation in Teaching - EX; History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science - HFS; Education in non-formal spaces and popular science - EFD; Information and Communication Technologies - ICTs; Environmental education - EA; Approach Science, Technology and Society - CTS; Curriculum and Assessment - CA and Inclusion and Educational Policies - IP. Whole process of evaluation of the work - following criteria already established in the area and established by the Education Division - involved 299 referees; all our pairs formed by university teachers, researchers and area this year also involved doctoral students of EC / EQ area, with a background in chemistry.

This year the central theme "The Challenges of Training and Professor of Chemistry Labor in Contemporary World". A comprehensive axis which seeks the light of the intense changes that a globalized world is the technology is human flows and capital, (re) interpetrar the teacher's role (chemistry) from its formation to their work in the classroom . The various topics that will be addressed by the speakers and the work that will be socialized in the eighteenth collect as our community has investigated the problems and trying solutions to these and other challenges.

In addition to the Local Organizing Committee, the eighteenth ENEQ is the result of the effort of the Scientific Committee and many colleagues mirrored across the country to endure as evaluators of the work, which we are very grateful.
