This App for evaluating the ability to perceive and predict driving hazards has three parts: types of hazards, reaction time test, and what happens next test.
HAZARD TYPES. It shows different types of traffic hazards through recorded videos of real driving: crosswalks, children, school zones, people with disabilities, traffic officers, cyclists, motorists, road narrowing, merging, parking lots, etc.
REACTION TIME TEST. Videos containing traffic hazards appear in this test. The task is to press when some hazard appears, which is a situation in which an evasive maneuver would have to be made.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT TEST. In this test you have to pay attention to search for and identify the appearance of some hazard that appears when the video is cut so that you can answer questions such as: where was the danger just when the video was cut?, what generates the dangerous situation?, what do you think will happen next?
Reaction time and what happens next tests can be done and the performance can be evaluated. You can also train your hazards perception and prediction by watching the videos in their full form and listening to the commentary.
