From the Faculty of Psychology of the UNED in collaboration with the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, we are carrying out a study (approved by the Ethics Committee of the HCSC) on the prevention of postpartum depression. Our objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of the APP Healthy Moms and Babies: help for the prevention of postpartum depression in pregnant women. The App will give you information on how to manage your mood during pregnancy, as well as practical advice on eating, breastfeeding or the birth process.
If you are pregnant and over 18 years of age, we invite you to participate by downloading the APP and using it over the next few weeks as the tool itself will indicate. The first time you open the APP and throughout its use, you will be asked short and simple questions about your state of mind, which will help us analyze the effectiveness of the preventive intervention. In addition, exercises and practices will be proposed, which together with the psychoeducational content, pursue preventive action. We encourage you to carry out all the proposed practices and reflections on what you have learned in the APP in your day to day. Once the content of the App is finished, we will evaluate its progress again.
Your participation in the study is completely voluntary and anonymous. The data will be treated with the utmost confidentiality in accordance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights.
Participation is disinterested, and no benefit is offered beyond the preventive objective. If, after having granted the initial participation consent, you wish to stop collaborating in the research, you must send an email to psicologiaperinatal@psi.uned.es indicating your identification data and the following message in the subject line: "Withdrawal from participation in Project APP Healthy Moms and Babies”. You can use that same email address to contact us with any questions or suggestions.
Thank you very much for your help!
