About this app

With BlueDiscovery you can easily find a all range of information and services related to the Italian Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and Marine Parks catered for all needs, from general tourism to pleasure yachting and sailing, diving and sport fishing.

Based on your location, the App will automatically provide you information on rules and regulations, recommended excursions, places of interest around you and how to reach them and lots more.

To date, the following Italian Marine Protected Areas have formally requested and adopted the BlueDiscovery App to provide information and services to tourists:
- Isole di Ventotene e S.Stefano MPA (LT)
- Regno di Nettuno MPA (NA)
- Punta Campanella MPA (NA)
- Isole Tremiti MPA (FG)
- Porto Cesareo MPA (LE)
- Egadi Islands MPA(TP).

The following services are available in this version of the App:

- possibility of requesting and paying for anchoring, sport fishing and diving authorizations in the Isole di Ventotene e S.Stefano MPA (LT);

- possibility of requesting and paying for anchoring and sport fishing authorizations in the Regno di Nettuno MPA (NA);

- paying for mooring buoys in the Punta Campanella MPA (NA);

- booking mooring buoys in the Isole Tremiti MPA (FG);

- possibility of requesting and paying for sport fishing, diving and mooring authorizations in the Porto Cesareo MPA (LE);

- possibility of requesting and paying for navigation, anchoring, mooring, sport fishing and diving authorizations in the Isole Egadi MPA (TP).

Furthermore, it is possible to send georeferenced reports to the MPAs, including photo and text, on damage to the environment or wildlife sightings (Citizen Science).

The App also contains tourist information relating to other marine protected areas that have expressed interest in the App and with which collaboration and projects have already been started:
- La Maddalena Archipelago National Park (SS)
- Asinara Island MPA (SS)
- Santa Maria di Castellabate MPA (Cilento National Park, SA)
- Costa degliInfreschi e dellaMasseta MPA (Cilento National Park, SA)
- Ustica Island MPA (PA).
