BottleBuddy is the first hyperlocal marketplace for refundable deposit bottles in Malta. Instead of letting empties pile up in your kitchen or schlepping them to a single far-away return point, post them on BottleBuddy — and a neighbor will come pick them up and split the refund with you.
Built specifically for Malta — for Sliema, St. Julian's, Gżira, Birkirkara, Valletta, and everywhere in between.
▸ HOW IT WORKS
PROVIDERS: You've got a sack of empty Cisk, Kinnie, Coke, or Beck's bottles sitting in your laundry room. You don't have time, or a car, or you just don't want to deal. Post them on BottleBuddy with a photo, your rough location (we don't show your exact address), and how many bottles you have. Done.
COLLECTORS: You're on your way to a deposit return machine anyway, or you just like the side income. Open the map, see who's listing nearby, request a pickup, and walk over. Pay the provider their agreed share (cash, Revolut, whatever) once you've picked the bottles up. Cash the deposits.
BOTH: Most users do both. You collect when you're out, you list when you're home with a stack.

• You're never asked for ID, government documents, or financial details to use the app
• All chat lives inside BottleBuddy — no need to share your phone number
▸ PRICING
BottleBuddy is free to use, forever, for both providers and collectors. We make money from an optional BottlePremium subscription (€5.99/month) that adds extra map filters, priority placement of your listings, and unlimited monthly pickups (free tier is 5/month — plenty for casual users).
You can use the entire app on the free tier. Premium is for power users who do dozens of pickups a month.
▸ WHO WE ARE
BottleBuddy is an independent project built and run from Malta. We have no investors, no parent company, no growth-at-all-costs incentives. We built this because we live here and we got tired of bottles piling up.

▸ PRIVACY

Short version: we collect the bare minimum to make the marketplace work (email, approximate location while the app is open, the listings and chats you post), we don't sell any of it, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account).
We're based in Malta and operate under EU GDPR — your data is yours.
▸ MALTA LAUNCH
We're rolling out in waves:
• Closed alpha: 14–27 June 2026 (200 hand-picked testers across the Sliema area)
• Open beta: 28 June – 19 July 2026 (~500 users)
• Public launch: ~20 July 2026 (everyone)
