Fantastic Use 5D Mk3 and 550D. Tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7 inch, free from Virgin with phone deal. OTG cable from Asda, £5. Using USB cable that came with my 5D. Downloaded Shutter Release app first, plugged in, switched on, no problems. Paid for DSLR Controller and worked first time. Have had no problems at all. A very good app. I use it for photography only, when the camera is in an awkward position, ie inverted or mounted high. Works flawlessly with both 5D and 550D. Looking for a good way to mount tablet.
I purchased this app and it worked GREAT on my Note 5. I now have the Pixel XL and it does NOT work. Yes, I have the correct cable(s). The app does not even recognize my Canon 60D (as it did with the Note 5). I still give a 5 star rating because it was simply THE BEST app on my Note 5. I hope there is a fix for the Pixel XL or a simple solution. Keep up the great work Devs! **********UPDATE: Thank you for the fast response from the Dev, it is now working great! It was a bad OTG adapter just as you suggested! Thank You!**********
The most useful app I've ever bought here When I realized that I forgot to take my remote control while already being on holiday in Thailand, I was in great despair because original app by Canon does actually nothing. And I do timelapses. You can imagine how happy I was when I figured out that there is an app that can do timelapses over WiFi with even more control than my wired rc! Totally loved it. Works perfectly, very fast and battery consumption is small. ASUS Zenfone 5 2GB RAM & Canon 70D.
I have made a complete turn around on this app. At first I didn't like it at all because it didn't work and I could not get a refund. However, I found out that I needed a wifi host to connect between my Canon EOS SL1 and my phone and tablet. It is a great app for Pros and newbies in DSLR photography and film making.
I have been trying to get this to work with a Canon 70d to no avail. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 compact and it works fine via wifi and the Canon 'Camera connect' app but the DSLR Controller app doesn't recognise / pair with the camera. I have the latest 70d firware installed (1.1.2). Altogether currently it seems like a waste of £7.99.
good app - but it needs polishing In principle it is a good app with good usability. It really bothers me though, that the folder where the photos are saved (and its photo gallery) can't be changed. Please consider this in your next update - specially for the money this app costs...
NOTICE: There are still a few issues with 5D Mark IV support when using USB. We advise using NFC-initiated Wi-Fi for now!
