About this app

Turn your phone into a magnetic field meter. FIELD SCANNER reads the magnetometer built into your device and shows the field in microtesla — the real number, with no invented readings.

What people use it for: checking wiring behind a wall, finding out how much field a microwave or a router puts out, locating metal in furniture, and showing friends what the air around them looks like.

• Live reading in µT or milligauss, with X, Y and Z axes
• Analogue needle, LED bar and a one-minute graph
• Peak value, minimum and maximum
• Sound alert above a threshold you set
• Recordings kept on the device, up to 30 minutes each
• Home screen widget
• Sensor status and accuracy shown on screen at all times

Honest by design. The Earth's own field is 25–65 µT — that is written right on the screen, so a normal reading is never mistaken for a discovery. If your device has no magnetometer, the app says so and shows nothing at all, instead of inventing numbers.

No ads. No permissions. No account. Nothing leaves your phone.

Requires a device with a magnetometer. Most phones have one; some budget models do not.
Magnetic field in µT. Shows what your sensor really reads — nothing faked.
