monocles chat is a messaging app that focuses on four aspects: Ease of use, freedom, security and privacy.
🤳 Ease of use:
monocles chat offers a modern user interface, with various design options to customize your chat app the way you want it. It is intuitive to use and offers a wide range of functions:
* Send text and voice messages with your friends
* Create private group chats with your friends or use public rooms to discuss topics with the whole world
* Share pictures, stickers, videos and other files
* Make encrypted audio and video calls
* Send location data
* Set a profile picture to give your chat account greater individuality
* Use status messages to announce your current availability or news
* Synchronize your message history on multiple devices
* Address book integration (no need to exchange your address book with the server)
* monocles chat backs up your chat history daily to local storage.
🌍 Freedom:
monocles chat uses the international internet standard XMPP. This means that you can chat with anyone who also uses an app that uses this standard.
Whether on your smartphone, PC or other devices. You are also free to use a different app at any time and still continue your chats if you no longer like monocles chat. Of course, we'll do our best to make sure that doesn't happen.
🔐 Security and data protection:
With up to three different end-to-end encryption methods and DNSSEC/DANE verification, a high level of security and data protection is guaranteed.
monocles chat works completely without the use of FCM. This means that no connections or information are shared with other servers. In addition, received files can be stored on the user's own device in a hidden memory.
In the current version of the XMPP Compliance Suites (XEP-0459) of the XMPP Standards Foundation, monocles chat achieves the highest rating in all categories relevant to mobile apps.
