Hobbyist is a GPS-based companion app for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy nature responsibly. Whether you're cycling, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or enjoying winter sports, Hobbyist tracks your location in real time and alerts you when you approach or enter protected or restricted areas.

Here's how it works: Before you set off, tell the app about your activity: your mode of transport, group size, and whether you have a dog with you. Hobbyist uses this information to calculate a dynamic safety radius around your location. As you move, your location is continuously tracked in the background and displayed on an interactive map.

If your location circle overlaps with a registered restricted area, you'll receive an immediate notification, allowing you to adjust your route before disturbing wildlife, private property, or protected habitats.

Who is the app for?

Please note: For Hobbyist to function correctly, permission to access your location (including background location) is required. Your location data will be used solely to detect proximity to restricted areas and will not be shared with third parties.
