SameWay connects people who are heading to the same place: into town, to a concert, a festival, a market, the lake or a hike. Car, train, bus, ferry, bike or on foot – the journey matters, not the wheels.

A classic carpool, a rideshare to a festival or a shared train ride: you find people near you who want to ride along or can take you with them.

HOW IT WORKS

The board shows who is heading where: trips posted by other people, plus occasions such as concerts and markets and destinations for inspiration. If a trip fits, you message the person directly. Everything else is settled in the chat: where you meet, when you leave, whether and how you split any costs.

Want to take someone along, or looking for company? Post a trip: origin, destination, time, means of transport, seats. Whoever wants to join asks in the chat – you confirm or decline. On confirmation the seat count goes down automatically and a shared group chat opens for everyone on board.

THE CHAT IS THE PRODUCT

SameWay books nothing and matches nothing automatically. There is no commission, no payment processing and no fare in the system. Whether a trip is free, whether costs are shared or whether that is up for discussion is a note from the author – the actual arrangement happens in the chat, directly between you.

WHAT THE BOARD SHOWS

• Trips posted by others: offers (I can take you) and requests (I am looking for a ride or company)
• Occasions: concerts, festivals, parties, markets, sports, stage, exhibitions
• Destinations: sights, nature, lakes, castles, museums, viewpoints
• Categories you can show or hide, so the board matches your interests

Occasions and destinations are marked as inspiration, not as an offer – you can turn any of them into your own trip with one tap.

TRUST AND SAFETY

• A trip publicly shows its place and time. The exact meeting point is deliberately agreed in the chat only.
• After a completed trip you can rate each other from 1 to 5 stars. The average appears on the profile.
• Trips can be limited to women; the system enforces this. Further conditions: non-smoking, pets, luggage.
• You can report any profile, any trip and any message. Every report is reviewed.
• You can block people. Blocked people cannot message you, cannot ask to join and cannot follow you; their posts are hidden from you. You manage this under Profile › Settings › Safety.
• Abusive language is checked when you send and rejected.

YOUR PROFILE

Display name, photo, bio, interests, region and vehicle are all optional. Your profile is publicly visible – you decide what goes in it. Your stats count shared trips, CO2 saved and your rating average. Follow people and you will see their current trips. Over time SameWay becomes more of a community than a ride-matching service: you end up travelling with people you already know.

BROWSE WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT

You can look at the board without signing in. A free account is needed only once you act: post a trip, message someone, ask to join, follow or rate. You can delete your account yourself in the settings at any time – together with your content.

LANGUAGES

German, English, French, Spanish, Italian. The app follows your device language.

LOCATION

Sharing your location is optional; it sorts nearby trips to the top. Without it you simply type your place by hand. If you use your current location as the origin or destination, that place becomes part of your public trip.

SameWay is not a taxi service and not a booking platform. It is a notice board with a chat – for carpools and everyone with the same way and the same vibe.

What’s new

Events near you: the board shows concerts, parties, festivals and more for your location – your own and partner events first. New rows: comedy, sports, stage, arts & culture, expos. Each trip appears only once on the board. No ticket yet? Event pages link to the ticket provider – we don't sell tickets. Chats show the trip in the header right away.
