Under an ordinary backyard lives a neighborhood of critters, and they just heard water running somewhere far below. Grab your claws, pack a carrot and join the Great Backyard Expedition!
DIG, ONE TILE AT A TIME
Tap to dig down through wild underground layers: soft Topsoil, the crumbly Sandbox, slippery Frost, sizzling Hot Rocks and tangled Old Oak Roots. Every layer plays by its own rules. Keep an eye on your Grub, grab snacks along the way and head back up before your tummy runs empty. Each trip down takes you a little deeper than the last.
MEET THE DIG BUDDIES
Ten critters, ten ways to dig:
• Digby the Mole, the hopeful leader whose field notes say "Rock. Again."
• Grandpa Gus the Badger, who picks up everything the others leave behind
• Rusty the Rat, who won't touch a carrot but happily munches iron ore
• Tex the Armadillo, the only one who actually read the safety rules
• Pudge the Chipmunk, whose cheeks can hold... well, everything
...and five more buddies to unlock, each with a secret way to earn them.
BUILD UP YOUR BACKYARD
Bring your finds home and watch the yard come to life. Train with Coach at the Gym, haggle with Jay at the Trading Post, forge new Claws and Drills with Buck at the Forge and pick up handy Charms from Madame Croak. The Forge keeps smelting while you're away, so there's always something waiting when you come back.
PAN FOR BIG FINDS
Nugget the otter runs the Wash Pan down by the creek. Toss in your Shinies, give it a swirl and see what sparkles. Eureka!
EXPLORE AND COLLECT
Crack open Somebody's Stash for Napkin Sketches, dig up long-lost Curios for Edgar's Stump Museum and earn a hat for every critter who reaches the Underground Creek. Then head out to The Back Forty: glowing Crystal Caves, The Deep Dark, the Heart of the Hill and a mysterious Dark Lake at the very bottom.
• Relaxing idle digging, great for short breaks
• 20 underground layers across two big zones
• 10 playable critters, each with their own rules
• Claws, Drills, Boots and Charms to craft and upgrade
• Offline progress: the Forge works for up to 8 hours while you're away
