Motion Detector turns a spare Android phone into a simple security camera. Point it at a door, a room or your desk, tap Activate, and it takes a picture every time something moves.

KEEPS WATCHING IN THE BACKGROUND
• Detection keeps running when you leave the app or turn off the screen
• An ongoing notification shows how many pictures have been taken
• A countdown gives you time to step out of view before it starts

SEE WHAT HAPPENED
• Your 12 latest pictures are shown right on the home screen
• Tap a picture to open it full screen
• Every picture is stamped with the date and time it was taken

MAKE IT FIT YOUR SPACE
• Sensitivity: from very low to super high
• Delay between pictures: from 0.1 to 60 seconds
• Noise reduction to ignore flicker and small changes
• Front or back camera, resolution and image quality

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Pictures are saved only on your phone, in the app's own folder. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.

Live preview lets you aim the camera before you start. Motion Detector is available in 20 languages.

Motion Detector is free and shows a small banner ad. You can change your ad privacy choices at any time from Privacy settings in the app.

Ratings and reviews

Mostly good. The folder that the images are stored in is clearly stated. Problem is after 2, 3, 4, or 5 days the program deactivates itself. It doesn't tell you it did that. How can I get it to stay activated?

Nice app. Seems to do the job as advertised. But one thing - the recorded images are upside down! Couldn't find a setting to fix that

I looked in my files and I've been put in the search engine external I can't find any of the pictures it takes I looked at my gallery my photo areas I can't find the picture anywhere on my Android phone and that doesn't help me at all
