About this app

Mapis is a Finnish terrain map application for forest owners, hikers, hunters and berry pickers. It combines terrain maps, aerial photos and property boundaries from the Finnish National Land Survey and the Forest Resource Centre's forest resource data into an easy-to-use interface. Works on phones, tablets and browsers (app.mapis.fi).

🗺️ FREE TERRAIN MAPS AND BASIC FEATURES:
✔️ Terrain maps (Norwegian National Land Survey): Always up-to-date and free terrain maps, aerial photos, slope-shaded terrain maps and background maps from all over Finland.
✔️ Property boundaries and codes: See property boundaries and property codes in precise vector format on the map.
✔️ Boundary markers: Boundary markers on the map - precise property information with one click.
✔️ GPS positioning and route recording: GPS positioning shows your location in the terrain in real time. Easily save routes.
✔️ Versatile search: Quickly find items based on address, place name, coordinates or property ID.
✔️ Measurement tools: Measure distances and areas directly from the terrain map.
✔️ Custom markings: Draw points, lines and areas on the map and save notes.
✔️ Data import and export: Transfer markings and routes in GPX and GeoJSON formats.
✔️ Custom map layers (max. 2 pcs): Import your own WMS, WMTS, WFS and ArcGIS map layers into the application. Edit the styles of the WFS layers freely.
✔️ Dynamic object data: View object data of WFS layers with an editable data form.
✔️ Map prints (in the browser): Save the map view as a PDF document at app.mapis.fi.

🌲 MAPIS PRO – ADDITIONAL FEATURES FOR FORESTRY AND HIKING:
✔️ Offline terrain maps: Download terrain maps, property boundaries and forest reserve patterns to your device. Offline maps ensure that maps and GPS positioning work reliably even without a mobile network.
✔️ Forest maps and forest information (Metsäkeskus): Forest reserve patterns, canopy model, forest use notifications and Kemera and Metka subsidies on the map.
✔️ Valuable habitats: See particularly important habitats and protected areas according to Section 10 of the Forest Act.
✔️ Property areas: View the areas of selected properties and plots.
✔️ Forest information summaries: View tree information and proposed measures. Create statistical summaries for selected patterns or the entire property.
✔️ Forest pattern export tools: Export pattern data to Excel, create a PDF pattern catalog, or save data in XML format to other systems.
✔️ Cloud backup and synchronization: Save your annotations and settings to the cloud and easily transfer them between your phone and computer.
✔️ Unlimited custom map layers: Add an unlimited number of custom map layers to the application using open interfaces.
