Counting moving objects is hard, especially when there is a lot to count. How fast does this axle rotate? How many birds do I see in the sky? How much products do we produce per second?
This app gets the best out of your phone camera by edge detection technology to analyse and count objects which pass the green line in the middle of the screen. When one or more objects are detected the green line turns red, and the object is counted.
No more tally counters, hours of video analysing, manual tickers or even guessing, we got you covered with real-time computer vision!
How it works,
1. Aim for the place where the objects are likely to pass.
Detecting objects with high contrast against the background will give the best results. Black and white are the perfect opposites, but any enough contrast will do.
2. Check the CounterLine.
If the line in the middle of the screen is not totally green when nothing passes, reset the background with the left button. To prevent that the background is recorded, it is possible to adjust the sensitivity and the minimal object size with the sliders. Try to hold your phone as still as possible.
3. The middle line is adjustable with the dots at the end of it.
Sometimes you do not want the whole picture to be captured, CounterLine will only detect objects that pass the line.
4. Once you get objects detected, push the middle button to capture the data.
We do not send the data over to our servers, our only guilty pleasure is advertisements.
5. If you have enough captures, push the middle button again.
A summary of the most important statistics is shown, together with a graph.
The only thing you have to do is to decide what you want to count!
