Finnish Authenticator is an application that enables you to authenticate yourself to selected Finnish government e-services.

Please check first with the e-service if it supports Finnish Authenticator before registering and taking the application into use.

To use e-services with the Finnish Authenticator, you need to have a valid passport which you need to register to your Finnish Authenticator account.

NOTE: This service is intended only for citizens of countries other than Finland who are over 18 years of age. Finnish identity documents cannot be used to register a user identifier.

Crashes after scanning the QR code for the first time, after that it just crashes when I try to open the app. Re-installed, cleared cache, storage... nothing worked.

First, app wouldn't work on my work phone. It started fine, but the QR code check kept failing. Downloaded the app to my private phone, luckily it worked there even though I didn't do anything differently. Second, the face scan was just horrible and took so long to work. Just kept saying place your head in the center, while my head was very clearly in the center of the frame.

This app does not fulfil its function at all. I needed to access my records from when I lived in Finland as a non Finnish resident of another country. As far as I can tell, this app is the only way to access the Finnish government e-services. Do not recommend at all, every time it goes to scan the QR code it crashes and says the app is not installed when it clearly is. Judging by other people's reviews, this problem is not likely to get fixed soon.
