Catch! rates your fishing spot – for pike, zander, and perch.
You place the pin on the map, and Catch! calculates the CatchScore: a number from 0 to 100 for each fish species, indicating how favorable the conditions are at that exact location. You'll also see why the score is what it is.
HOW IT WORKS
• Set your spot: Tap on your fishing location on the map (aerial or street map), search for a body of water or place – or use GPS to locate you.
• Analyze: Catch! recognizes the type of water (river, stream, canal, lake, pond, tidal water) and evaluates the structure and surroundings of your spot.
• Read your score: A CatchScore for pike, zander, and perch – broken down into "Location" and "Conditions."
• WHAT YOU'LL SEE
• Catch Score from 0 to 100 for each of the three species
• Location factors: depth, structure, cover, water type, and more
• Conditions: including... Water temperature, oxygen, water level and flow (where a measuring station is nearby), precipitation, light and time of day, spawning season
• Wind with direction, strength, and relation to your shoreline
• Each factor with its own rating and brief explanation
• Habitat: where the species is likely to be (e.g., shallow water, mid-water, bottom)
• Short outlook: score now, in 1, 2, and 4 hours
• Tidal curve showing high and low tides on tidal waters
• Official aerial photographs in Germany and almost all neighboring countries – where none are available, the map shows a road map
• Map layer "Structures on the water" with weirs, groynes, jetties, and parking areas
• Depth chart with colors and depth contours – for Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lake Constance, and sections of the Rhine, Elbe, Oder, and others
• Information on possible closed seasons by federal state
MY SPOTS
Every analyzed spot is saved on your device. Rename spots, sort them via drag & drop, or by best score for pike, zander, or perch. "Check all spots" updates all saved spots at once. The last calculated score remains visible even without a network connection.
SHARE SPOT
Share a spot via WhatsApp & other messaging apps: a link with a large preview of the body of water, catch score, and time – without coordinates or your spot name. If Fang! is installed, the link opens the app.
DATA SOURCES
Weather data from OpenMeteo, water level data from the WSV via PEGELONLINE, map data from OpenStreetMap and, in Germany, from the BKG (basemap.de), aerial images from the surveying offices of the federal states and the official mapping services of neighboring countries. If the map data is insufficient, AI recognizes the body of water and shoreline structure of your spot from official aerial images of the location.
FREE DURING THE INTRODUCTION PHASE
Fang! is free, ad-free, and requires no account. All features are unlocked. You get 10 new spot analyses per month.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
• The Catch Score is an assessment of the conditions – not a catch forecast or a guarantee. A high score doesn't mean you'll catch anything, and a low score doesn't mean you'll go home empty-handed.
• Catch! doesn't suggest spots. You choose your own location.
• Currently only available for waters in Germany and only for pike, zander, and perch.
• You need an internet connection for an analysis.
• Closed season information is non-binding. You are responsible for checking closed seasons, minimum sizes, fishing permits, and the regulations of your specific body of water.
• Catch! is not a safety or navigation system. The app does not assess local hazards such as currents, high water, or ice.
