About this app

Truffy is a personal notebook for the dogs and cats that come through your home: the ones you look after, whether you sit occasionally or just help out friends, and your own, which you leave with someone else. You say what you do the first time you open the app, and it only shows you the notebook that concerns you.

Why this app?

When you look after several animals, you pile up details you forget: which medication, what time the meals are, and above all how this one behaves around others. The same question comes up every time: will this dog get along with the one I already have?

The other way round: who do I leave mine with, in which town, at what rate, can they give a medication or handle a reactive animal, and what do I leave them in writing?

Behaviour is not jotted down as free text but rated on a clear scale, which makes the list filterable: "show me the dogs that are fine with cats". You get the answer in seconds.

Features

• One record per animal: photo, age, breed, weight, owner
• Behaviour rated trait by trait — 19 traits for a dog, 5 for a cat — including 4 species-specific essentials: for a dog, gets along with other dogs, with people, with cats and copes with being left alone; for a cat, outdoor access, being picked up, litter habits and escape risk
• Cross-check two records: pick two dogs and the app compares their traits, flags the friction points and what to plan for (size gap, puppy meeting a senior, two dominant temperaments), and record how a real meeting actually went
• A sitter notebook: who looks after your animals, in which town, at what rate, and what they are comfortable with
• A sheet for your sitter: a page to print or share, with what they need to know about the animals you pick
• Warnings first: the record shows what needs attention at the top, the rest stays collapsed
• Health: allergies, physical limits, vet contact details
• Medication: name, dose, schedule, and whether it goes with a meal
• Meals: how many per day, times, amounts, treats allowed
• Habits: walks, sleep, play, fears, known commands
• Cat litter: how many trays, which litter, where they are
• Exact or estimated age: an estimate ages on its own, and shows with a ~
• Birthday: a badge on the card when one is coming up, and a note to celebrate on the day
• Rates on the record: per night, per day, per visit or per walk, in your currency
• One owner shared by several animals: a single contact to keep up to date
• Search by name, filter by dog or cat, and by whose animal it is
• Sort by name, by recently added, by recently updated or by least complete — filters and sort are still there when you come back
• Sitters sort too, and filter by the species they take
• A photo taken on the spot, or picked from your gallery
• Light or dark theme, weight in kilograms or pounds, language of your choosing
• Data entry never blocks you: only the name is required, you fill the rest in as you go
• Backup: a single file holding all your records, their photos, your walk locations and your sitters, which you keep wherever you like and restore on another phone
• Walks tab: a map to pin the places you walk a dog, with each place's rules — leash required or not, shared with bikes — the address filled in for you, the estimated travel time, and directions handed over to your maps app. "Search here" suggests the parks, gardens, woods and forests around you.
• Foods tab: 32 everyday foods, a clear verdict — never give, care needed or safe — and the doses scaled to your pet's weight and species

Free, no account, no ads

Your notebook stays on your phone: no animal's name, no note, no photo and no owner's contact details ever leave it, and it works offline. Only the Walks tab needs a connection, and nothing that leaves it carries the contents of a record. Usage measurement can be switched off in Settings, and the backup and the sheet only go where you send them.

What’s new

Truffy saves you retyping what two animals in the same home share.

• From one profile, create a second: owner, vet, meals, medication, rates and litter carry over, and you fill in the rest.
• While editing a profile, pull in the meals or medication from another one.
• Meal times are now set on a clock dial.
• Cat profiles no longer ask about walks.
• A comment on a meeting between two dogs is no longer lost.
