Explore the world with a wealth of maps. CartoExplorer offers you direct access to a vast library of high-quality basemaps, adapted to all your exploration and geographic analysis needs:
- IGN maps (France): Benefit from the precision and richness of maps from the French National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information. Please note that access to certain IGN maps (IGN, Topo25, and ICAO maps) requires a subscription of €0.85/month (€9.99/year).
- Swiss Topo Maps (Switzerland): Discover the legendary precision of topographic maps from swisstopo, the Swiss Federal Office of Topography.
- IGN Maps (Spain): Explore the Iberian Peninsula with topographic maps from the Spanish Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN).
- USGS Maps (United States): Explore the vast territories of the United States with topographic maps from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
- World Maps: Travel the world with the power of Open Street Map and the wide variety of specific backgrounds based on its information.

- Create and record your tracks: Easily plan your routes directly on the map. Draw your routes freehand or by following existing trails. Record your GPS movements in real time, view your track on the map, and track key data. Export and share your tracks in GPX format to share or use them on other devices and platforms.
- Follow your tracks in real time: Import your GPX tracks or select a created route and let CartoExplorer guide you. View your current position on the track and view real-time information on remaining distance and estimated time of arrival.
- Position precise landmarks: Mark important points of interest on your map: summits, springs, viewpoints, bivouac sites, incidents, etc. Customize your landmarks with colors, names, icons, and descriptions. View their GPS coordinates and easily share them with other users.
- Define areas with polygons: Define specific zones on the map by drawing polygons. Automatically calculate their surface area. Useful for identifying search areas, demarcating plots, or planning actions in specific areas.
- Manage your mapping offline: Never let a lack of internet connection limit your explorations.
