Nominis is the encyclopedia of first names and saints from the Conference of Bishops of France. Every day, discover the saint of the day, the lives of the saints celebrated in the liturgical calendar, and the origin of first names.

THE SAINT OF THE DAY
When you open the application, the saint of the day is displayed immediately. Browse the Catholic liturgical calendar date by date and find, for each day of the year, the saints celebrated by the Church, as well as the names to wish for. More than 8,000 detailed entries tell the story of each saint's life: biography, era, region, patron saint, and martyrology.

THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FIRST NAMES
Nearly 7,000 first names, with for each its etymology, meaning and origin, associated patron saint, and feast day. Are you looking for a name for a baby? The assistant helps you find the perfect first name by gender, letter, origin, and category, and INSEE statistics show you how its popularity has evolved in France since 1900.

EXPLORE THE SAINTS
The categorized lists allow you to browse saints alphabetically, chronologically, by region, or by patronage: patron saint of travelers, the sick, professions, a city, or a country. A map shows the saints' places of residence, and the search function instantly finds any saint or first name.

FOR A BAPTISM
Create a personalized litany of saints using the names of family members and godparents: the app compiles a list of corresponding saints, ready to be printed or read during the celebration.
