Tá 40,000 ceannfhocal, 140,000 aonad céille agus níos mó ná 139,000 abairt shamplach agus frása san Fhoclóir Nua Béarla-Gaeilge. Tá comhaid foghraíochta ó na trí mhórchanúint agus an t-iliomad comhad gramadaí ar fáil d’úsáideoirí ann chomh maith.
An chéad fhoclóir cuimsitheach Béarla-Gaeilge a foilsíodh le breis agus 50 bliain anuas, tá an foclóir comhaimseartha, údarásach seo oiriúnach do dhaoine den uile aois agus cumas, ón bhfoghlaimeoir atá ar thús a aistir go dtí cainteoirí líofa a úsáideann an teanga ar leibhéal gairmiúil gach lá.

Ábhar an fhoclóra:
• Stór focal cuimsitheach, comhaimseartha;
• Neart samplaí úsáide;
• Comhaid fuaime ó na trí mhórchanúint;
• Comhaid ghramadaí do bhriathra, ainmfhocail, aidiachtaí agus réamhfhocail.

Feidhmeanna agus Gnéithe:
• Nach mór gach feidhm ar fáil as líne (comhaid fuaime as líne le teacht sa chéad leagan eile);
• Feidhm uathchríochnaithe agus tú i mbun cuardaigh le cabhrú leat teacht ar fhocail agus ar fhrásaí go tapa;
• Cuardaigh le saoróga;
• Cuir réiltíní leis na hiontrálacha is fearr leat chun iad a shábháil;
• Liosta de na cuardaigh is déanaí a rinne tú;
• Tapáil ar fhocal in iontráil chun aistriúcháin an fhocail sin a fháil;
• Cóipeáil agus greamaigh na hiontrálacha is fearr leat.

Féadtar an aip a úsáid le leaganacha 4.0 agus níos déanaí den chóras Android, ach is fearr a ritheann an aip ar leaganacha 4.4 agus níos déanaí.

De réir mar a chuirfear iontrálacha leis an bhfoclóir, cuirfear leaganacha nua den aip ar fáil saor in aisce.
Is uirlis thábhachtach é seo do gach foghlaimeoir agus cainteoir ar an uile leibhéal.
Tá an foclóir seo á fhoilsiú ag Foras na Gaeilge, an foras rialtais atá freagrach as cur chun cinn na Gaeilge.

Please allow dictionary to be on external card. Takes too much internal storage. Navigation not great. I can click on a noun & get declension info. But no conjugation from clicking on verb. It's possible to go one way. teanglann app can go both ways (but has its own limitations).

Helpful, useful for going through Irish studies. Only improvement would be to allow the user to type in English words to discover what they are in Irish. Maybe it is already a feature but I haven't noticed it. Would recommend.

When it works, it works well. Occasionally, "downloading assets" pops up when I open it, stays at 0%, and eventually fails. It stays this way until I go into settings, apps, force stop, and clear data and cache.

What's new

Nuashonrú suntasach tras-fhoclóra. Ceartaíodh earráidí, cuireadh tuilleadh comhaid fuaime agus ghramadaí le hiontrálacha agus cuireadh slacht ar roinnt mhaith iontrálacha eile. Dornán d’iontrálacha nua a bhaineann le cúrsaí reatha agus le Béarla na hÉireann curtha isteach.

A significant cross-dictionary update. Errors corrected, sound and grammar files added to entries and many entries improved in various other ways. Some new entries relating to current affairs and Hiberno-English added.
