About this app

Old and rich Cistercian abbey, Auberive was founded in 1135 on the banks of the Aube by Saint Bernard and the bishop of Langres, Villain d'Aigrement, with the support of the surrounding lords.
The monastery, particularly prosperous in the thirteenth century, suffered the ravages of the Hundred Years War, the Wars of Religion in the sixteenth century, and the Thirty Years War (XVII century) since located on the border between Champagne and Burgundy.
