About this app

Play table tennis without an umpire: count each point on your Wear OS watch (on screen or with the Back button) and the score appears in giant digits on a tablet or phone. No watch? Tap the digits: the scoreboard works on its own.

Score Ping, a point counter for table tennis, follows the whole match: serve, games, ends, time-outs, in singles and doubles. One purchase covers the watch, tablet and phone on the same Google account.

How it works
1. Install Score Ping on a tablet or phone standing in landscape at the edge of the table: that is your scoreboard.
2. Install it on your watch too and open it: it finds the scoreboard on its own, over Bluetooth, with no Wi-Fi or account.
3. After each rally, tap the + of the side that won the point: a short vibration confirms it.

Keep score without putting down your paddle
• Large + zones in each side's color, small − zones to correct
• With the Back button, without aiming at the screen: one press, point for you; two quick presses, point for your opponent
• Long vibration if the point did not reach the scoreboard
• Player names, server framed; “Flipped view” for the player with their back to the scoreboard

No more arguments about who serves
• Giant digits readable from the other end of the table
• Server and receiver shown at every point, even after a correction: 2 serves each, then 1 from 10-10
• In doubles: service rotation, and “Who serves this game?” asked between games
• In the deciding game, change of ends at 5 points (in doubles, the receivers swap)

The whole match, from start to finish
• First to 2, 3 or 4 games, deciding game flagged automatically, winner announced on screen
• Game won: the + buttons lock and “End of game” turns yellow (BREAK on the watch). One tap: game counted, ends changed, 1-minute break before the next game
• 1-minute time-out per side (from the screen, or by tapping a card on the watch), 2-minute warm-up
• End of countdown signaled by 3 loud beeps (or the voice) and 3 vibrations on your wrist

Your way
• Score called out loud (optional), server's score first, like an umpire
• Handicap: each side starts from a score between −30 and +10
• Several tables: each screen has a name, and the watch remembers its own
• Mirror screen: a second tablet or a phone shows the score live and can count too
• Scoreboard in 7 languages, chosen with one tap on the flag

Reliable for the whole match
• Scoreboard stays on; if the app is closed or the tablet restarts, the match picks up where it left off
• The watch reconnects by itself if the link drops, and Score Ping stays active on it (Wear OS ongoing activity)

No internet, no account
Watch and screen talk directly over Bluetooth: Score Ping has no internet access and works without any network. No account, no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no data collected.

What you need
• The scoreboard: a tablet or phone running Android 8.0 or later. To receive the watch, it must be able to advertise over Bluetooth LE (the app tells you if not).
• To count from your wrist: a watch running Wear OS 3 or later. It does not work alone: it needs an open Score Ping scoreboard in range (not necessarily the phone paired with the watch).

Good to know
• Counting with the button: watches with a physical button that acts as Back (for example the bottom button of a Galaxy Watch); no undo with the button: use the − on the watch to correct.
• Score announcements are off by default; they need a text-to-speech voice installed for the chosen language.
• Mirror screen: Android 12 or later.
• There is no pairing code: any Score Ping watch in range can connect to a scoreboard.

What’s new

Tablets (7 to 10 inches): settings that don't fit in the bar now move to the ⋯ menu; the score, flag and ⋯ always stay visible. Time-out now shows as "T/O".
Watch: count with the Back button without looking (1 press: your point; 2 presses: your opponent's). It reconnects on its own if the link drops.
Screen: pick the language with one tap on the flag; the watch stays connected when you change it.
