Draw one line across the board. Every square you cross changes the number you
are holding. Arrive at GOAL holding exactly the right one.
That is the whole game, and it takes about a minute a board.
HOW IT PLAYS
You start in one corner holding a number. Drag from square to square: a +4
adds four, a x2 doubles you, a -5 takes five away. Your total is written on
every square you cross, so you can always see where the number went, and you
can drag back along your own route to try another way. Nothing is timed and an
undo costs nothing.
Some squares have rules of their own. A divide square only opens for a number
it divides exactly. An arrow square can only be entered one way. A pair of
locks freezes your number between them. The flip turns it negative. Each one
arrives on its own, on an easy board, before it is mixed in with the rest.
A NEW PUZZLE EVERY DAY
Everybody gets the same daily board on the same date, wherever they are, and
it changes at your own midnight. Finish it, keep your run of days going, and
send your result to a friend: a strip of coloured squares that shows the shape
of your solve without giving the route away.
EVERY BOARD HAS A REAL ANSWER
The boards are small on purpose. Small enough that every possible route was
walked and counted when the board was made, so every level has a proven
solution, par is the true shortest route, and the win card can tell you how
your route compares with every other one that works.
