About this app

nta.gg is a private community for one group of people who already know each other. Membership is by invitation, so this app is only useful if somebody has already asked you in.

Inside, it is a place to talk.

Threads sit in topics you choose, in the order they happened. Nothing is ranked, promoted or held back, and there is no algorithm deciding what you see.

Voice rooms stay open. Drop in, say something, leave. You can watch a video together while you talk.

Direct messages go to one person or a few. They are private to the people in them and to nobody else through the app.

Reactions, custom emotes, images and rich link previews. Mentions notify the person you name. A daily email digest you can switch off.

You can mute a thread, mute a whole topic, block somebody, veil language you would rather not read, and report anything that should not be here. You control all of that yourself.

The group behind it has moved through a forum, a Facebook group and a chat server over about a decade. This is the first one they built and run themselves.
