‘UBoard’— A Universal Keyboard is an innovative application developed to support a wide range of languages, scripts, and keyboard layouts, including Bengali and various indigenous languages. This advanced tool facilitates accurate and efficient text input on Android devices, enabling users to seamlessly compose text in languages such as Bengali, Santali, Marma, Mru, Chakma, Arabic, and others. Additionally, the application allows users to define custom keyboard layouts, promoting linguistic inclusivity and enhancing the digital accessibility of lesser-known languages.

Many indigenous languages in Bangladesh are not well represented in technology due to a lack of resources and digital tools. UBoard solves this problem by providing a platform that supports low-resource and zero-resource languages, making them more accessible digitally and empowering their users.

1. Universal Language Support: Supports all languages, scripts, and layouts, including layouts of Arabic, Bijoy, Monir Optima, Provat, Bangla, Jatiya, STM, Sreelipi, Perfect Typist, Top Type, Hindi, Odia, Sylheti and more.

2. Built-in Layouts: Predefined layouts for English, Bengali, Phonetic, Jatiya, Chakma, Marma, Mru, and Santali.

3. Custom Keyboard Creation: Create, customize, and control user-defined keyboard layouts for any language.

4. User-Defined Dictionary: Add and check spelling and receive suggestions with your custom dictionary.

5. Dynamic Layout Switching: Switch layouts by swiping on the spacebar or pressing the globe button. Long press the comma button for easy keyboard layout switching.

6. Next-word and backspace Suggestions: Horizontal scrollable suggestion bar with text and emoji suggestions and next-word prediction.

• Move the cursor by holding and dragging the space key

12. Phonetic Mode Enhancements: Write vowel signs (া, ি, ী, ু, ূ, ৃ, ে, ৈ, ো, ৌ) individually and ligatures in phonetic mode, with support for nukta and halant marks.

13. ZWJ & ZWNJ Support: Dedicated keys for Zero Width Joiner (ZWJ) and Zero Width Non-Joiner (ZWNJ).

14. Seamless Integration: Switch between keyboards easily by long-pressing the globe button.
