Passport Seva Project, being executed by PSP Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, aims at providing all the Passport-related services to the Indian Citizens in a speedy, convenient and transparent manner. This is one of the largest projects of the Government of India under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) being executed in public-private-partnership mode with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the private partner. The project is already operational and servicing citizens through 93 Passport Seva Kendras and 412 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras across India.

MEA with a view to provide mobile enablement of public services, has launched a Mobile Application ‘mPassport Seva’ to offer a wide variety of services to smartphone users such as Passport application status tracking, locating the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and general information on various steps involved in obtaining a Passport.

This app is extremely buggy and unreliable. I've filled out the necessary form at least three times, but I still haven't received any confirmation email. The app frequently crashes and closes itself unexpectedly, which is incredibly frustrating. On top of that, the user interface is not intuitive or user-friendly, making the whole experience even worse. I wouldn't recommend this app until these issues are addressed.

I am not able to upload documents from my phone. How are you going to access my phone's storage if there is no provision for 'Storage Access Permission'? It just prompts an 'Allow Access' message within the App and then there is the forever loading screen!

It's a strange application. The keyboard goes to uppercase by default regardless of attempting to change to lowercase multiple times. The error message doesn't clarify what the issue is. This application is the true reflection of how Indian government services function.
