Typically useless as most apps by the government are. Better go the hard way, literally, as the digital way claimed here is nothing but a fake front for the real hard one. Don't bother, you can't do anything passport related digitally with this app; it's not an option to save you the legwork and the brain fuzz associated with anything governmental where you are at the receiving end.

The app developers seem to have absolutely no clue about basic app design, and it's honestly revolting. Taking a cue from apps like mygov would be a smart move. I couldn't hit the uninstall button fast enough after opening it—I'll just stick to using the website.

The developers have no clue on all development. It looks like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) assigned a bunch of interns to write an app because they had to make a release. Not that the interns were bad at it, their management is plain stupid with more of an interest in keeping a government contract rather than making something useful. Issues summary - Login doesn't work, password reset is success but they have no idea how to authenticate a user from the app and captcha is a joke.
