About this app

The Iris program was developed in 2017 in collaboration with the National Deaf Foundation for the remote support of the deaf and hard of hearing throughout Greece.
Through the Iris application, the user has the possibility to receive direct interpretation from and to sign language and lip reading (Relay Service) without requiring the physical presence of the interpreter at the point of service. The interpretation is carried out through a video call in direct connection with the National Foundation of the Deaf, in a specially designed space for this purpose.
The Service is provided by the National Deaf Foundation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The user is also able to make a call for ambulance, police, fire and civil protection. Unnecessary use of the service is prosecuted.
The Remote Interpretation Service is provided by the National Foundation of the Deaf. The data charge for using the application and making a video call is according to the applicable price list and plan of your provider
