"TROFEUS company was founded in Alexandroupoli in 1960 by Ioannis Papadopoulos. The original activity of the company was the professional supply of both the Markets of the time and the mass catering points with domestic, agricultural products. Ioannis Papadopoulos slowly created a company, which soon became synonymous with the quality of the products it sold, but also with impeccable service.
In 1974, in order to meet the needs of the market, in addition to the food trade, the company also moved into production by creating a fresh potato processing unit. The production of the new products provides innovative solutions for the professionals of the time. The company will continue with this dual activity until 1987.
In 1986, Christos Papadopoulos, the older of the two sons of Ioannis Papadopoulos, joined the company and proceeded to modernize the company by implementing an investment that resulted in the creation of a modern fresh potato processing line. Realizing the new trends and needs created in the market, it expands into the field of frozen products with the creation of the first freezer chambers. The development of frozen products is very large and the enrichment of the company with new products is continuous.
In 1994, with the entry of Konstantinos Papadopoulos, another son of I. Papadopoulos, into the company, the company was transformed from Ioannis Papadopoulos & Sons into AFOI PAPADOPOULOS O.E. staying committed to the basic principles of its founder: quality and service. The momentum that the company acquires is continuous and thus expands its catalog with new products. At the same time, it begins to expand geographically, leaving the boundaries of the area it started. Thus the need to create new and modern infrastructures (buildings, chambers, commercial vehicles) emerges.
In 1997, the new facilities were built on the 2nd km of Alexandroupolis - Avanda, which are among the first with ISO, HACCP specifications. Now having the space it needs, the company proceeds with the first imports of products from European countries (vegetables, pre-fried frozen potatoes, poultry, etc.), in order to supply the market with new products and become more competitive by continuing its development.
In 2007, the company expanded its existing facilities by creating an additional 4,000m3 cold rooms. Having now the possibility, it expands its range of products, both in preservation (cheese, salads, fresh meats, etc.) and in dry cargo (raw materials, biscuits, preserves, oils, etc.).
Today, the company is preparing new facilities in the area of ​​VIPE XANTHI, creating a modern Logistics center that will serve all of South Macedonia and Thrace. Today our company serves more than 1000 professionals in the prefectures of Evros, Rodopi and Xanthi and Kavala, providing more than 2000 quality products.
