About this game

Offline RPG/Dungeon Crawler

Dungeon Ward belongs to a genre of single player rpg offline games for free but it is mixed with old-school dungeon crawler from a 3rd person perspective. Inspired by dungeons and dragons (dnd), its diablo like features are real-time combat, magic, looting, character building, questing and boss fights. No wifi needed.

Character creation

It takes the best from the classic 3D RPG offline games for free (story, level up character, items, stats, skill trees, city with shops, quests, bosses, hardcore mode etc.) to the dungeon crawler setting.

Unique classes

Play as a mighty Warrior, shapeshifting Ranger or elemental Mage. Invest talent points to learn new skills such as spell reflection, lightning arrow or werewolf transformation. Learn new passive talents or just increase stats to create exactly the character build you like.

Procedural hand-made levels

This Role-playing game features 3D procedural dungeons from hand-made parts with unique boss rooms, deadly traps, teleports and story quests. It shares many aspects liked by dungeons and dragons (dnd) and diablo like fans, especially if you play on hardcore.

Fair play

This new role playing game can be completely played without internet (no wifi) and everything is possible to buy via ingame currencies which are obtainable also by playing.

Grid-based controls, 3rd person camera

Best offline games for free from 90s (Classic Offline RPG) were the inspiration for the grid-based controls. That means 90 degree turning, movement on a grid. It features not only button controls but also joystick.

Actively developed, Localized

Dungeon Ward has been in active development by a Czech solo developer in 2022, 2023 and the development continues still in 2024. The game is localized to: English (EN), Czech (CZ), Slovak (SK), German (DE), Spanish (ES), Polish (PL), Italian (IT), Indonesian (ID), Brazilian Portuguese (PT BR), French (FR) and Korean (KO).

Here's a fun RPG. I've only gotten to level 5 and the troll cave but so far this game is very well done. I'm playing the warden. Be sure to explore everything before exiting a level. The minimap is very helpful and links to the main map. The graphics are great. Finally, an RPG that isn't gatcha or idle. I have a feeling this is going to be a keeper.

The bad, the dungeons are repetitive, start over and over, same spot. That's why I uninstalled it. I didn't like the repitition. But... In the games dark corridors it can get busy, getting surrounded if you don't take care. Sound effects are good. There's a mission and decent upgrades and award's. Map is useful. Magic spells gets my vote, but not enough to keep playing it.

Thank you, I appreciate the update review. EDIT: It would be definitely nice to have more locations and I am working on a new one. Sadly as a solo developer, it takes me about 6 months to create 3 more levels, so its not as fast as I would like.

Excellent start, but far too linear. Needs interaction with environment: lootable objects such as crates & mineral deposits, jumping over pits, disabling traps, etc. Needs actual exploration along multiple routes with loot or maybe sources of persistent buffs. Side quests could add options. Just some sort of multiple goals or player choices, right now it's just a grind. Maybe replayable levels. I really hope development progresses, I'd love to come back to it later.

Thank you. These are really valid points to address in the future. Right now focus is more on "quantity" (more levels), afterwards I will probably focus on quality with these very good ideas.
