About this app

Minor alteration and addition works in private buildings can be carried out safely and lawfully through simplified requirements of the Minor Works Control System (MWCS)*.

This App provides 3 quick search methods to enable users to identify the correct class/type/item number/description of the proposed minor works. Based on this information, users may then choose suitable building professional / registered building contractor to carry out the works.

Users may also learn more about the required procedures for carrying out minor works, the Household Minor Works Validation Scheme / Validation Scheme for Unauthorised Signboards, using this App.

*The MWCS is implemented by the Buildings Department under the Buildings Ordinance.
