About this app

BarkStop listens for your dog's barking and tries to stop it with a warning sound.

All it needs is one phone. It works best on a spare or old one that can stay with the dog on a charger — in the room where he waits for you, or outside near the spot he guards — while you go out with your own. Got one in a drawer? This is a good job for it.

When the dog starts barking, BarkStop recognises it and plays a sound meant to break his focus and interrupt the barking.

Sound is not judged by loudness alone. Every sudden sound is checked by a sound recognition model, so a slammed door or a vacuum cleaner does not pass as barking.

• 17 built-in warning sounds - whistle, beep, siren, hand clap, bell, high tones and more
• Record your own voice or add a sound from files; enable several and they are picked at random
• Set how many barks in what window trigger a warning, how long it plays and the cooldown after
• Quiet hours: barks are still logged, the warning is skipped
• The flashlight can flash along with the sound
• A log grouped by day, with time, loudness and detection confidence, a chart per hour or per day, and CSV export
• Clips of detected barks, of a length you choose, so you can check whether detection was right
• A web interface on your own network: monitoring, statistics, camera video and the log
• From another device, listen to the dog live and talk to him - open an address in a browser, nothing to install
• Pair your own phone with a QR code and check on the dog from it: barks, the log and the camera, and a notification when barking adds up (on the same network, or through Home Assistant when you are away)
• Home Assistant: barks and warnings as sensors and events in your own smart home
• Eight themes, from Light and Dark to Sepia, Metal, true-black Midnight and High contrast

Simple mode keeps just the bark stopper and the web interface. Advanced adds the second phone, video, talking and Home Assistant.

Works totally offline too! - No accounts or registration needed.

Something to keep in mind;
A warning is an interruption, not a punishment. If the dog does not ease off after a few days, the cause is usually boredom or anxiety, and no app fixes that.
Listens for barking and plays a sound to try and stop it.
