About this app

AndroKat was launched on 10/09/2012 as a Roman Catholic-oriented application for phones with the Android operating system.

"Worship, moral life, offices and functions and everything else in the Church are meant to reciprocate this divine love to God, and to display and convey it to the world." (Balázs Barsi)

To combine - as much as possible - the opportunities and services provided by currently available Catholic mobile applications and websites.
Supporting daily prayer/reflection but not collecting quotes.
Our goal is not to make books available in stores free to download.
Let's not forget that "... the worker deserves his wages" (Lk 10:7), let's also support Catholic book publishers.

Listening to online radios. Be careful, it can cost a lot with mobile internet.
Follow news channels.
Gospel and other daily reflections, spiritual reading.
Saints Daily Quotes.
Downloadable, listenable audio materials about the daily gospel and other reflections.
Catholic and other magazines and blogs.
Way of the Cross meditation.
Catholic and other websites. It only works with a live internet connection!
Catholic and other videos. It only works with a live internet connection!
The most important, best-known collection of prayers.
Confession preparation, including prayer, spiritual mirror, spiritual readings. Possibility of individual notes. Process and description of confession.
Downloadable epub and pdf books. An internet connection is required to download books. You need an ePUB reader application to read them.
Daily saint according to the liturgical calendar.

The application is basically meant to help you use offline mode as much as possible. When you start the application, it downloads the latest materials to your phone (if you have a live internet connection), so you can read the materials even without internet.
It can be useful to "charge" your phone at home in the morning (after 5-6), so you can already read your favorite things on the bus and subway.
Obviously, this is not true for services that require a permanent Internet connection. E.g. online radio, videos, etc.

Some readable materials can be saved to favorites.
Since the older offline materials stored on the phone are periodically replaced with new ones, if you would like to keep something for a longer time, it is worth saving it to your favorites or sending it to yourself by email.

Some readable materials can be shared with previously installed or factory-installed applications on the phone, e.g. e-mail.

The font size can be adjusted in the settings.
How many pieces of material should be stored on the phone (offline database). This will prevent this app from taking up too much space on your phone.
You can also delete favorites and the offline database here. The latter is of course reloaded the first time you connect to the Internet, but only with the most recent materials.
You can set which pages should be displayed in the application.

On the contact page, you can contact the developers, who are open to all ideas, wishes and comments.
The app has social pages and has a web version too! So it's not an exclusionary reason if someone has a different phone ;)
