About this app

AndroKat was launched on October 9, 2012 as a Hungarian Catholic application for a phone running an android operating system.

"Worship, moral life, offices and functions, and everything else in the Church are for reciprocating this divine love to God and for displaying and transmitting it to the world." (Balázs Barsi)

To combine, as far as possible, the possibilities and services provided by the currently available Catholic mobile applications and websites.
Supporting daily prayer / meditation but not collecting quotes.
It is not our intention to make in-store books available for free download.
Let us not forget that "... the laborer deserves his own wages" (Lk 10: 7), let us also support Catholic publishers.

Listen to online radios. Be careful, it can cost a lot with mobilnet.
Follow feeds.
Gospel and other daily reflection, spiritual reading.
Daily quotes from saints.
Downloadable, listenable audio materials about the daily gospel and other reflections.
Catholic and other magazines, blogs.
Crossroad reflection.
Catholic and other websites. Only works with a live internet connection!
Catholic and other videos. Only works with a live internet connection!
A collection of the most important, best known prayers.
Confession preparation, including prayer, spiritual mirror, spiritual readings. Possibility of individual note. Process and description of confession.
Downloadable epub and pdf books. An internet connection is required to download books. An ePUB reader application is required to read them.
Daily saint according to the liturgical calendar.

The app is basically designed to help you use offline mode as much as you can. When you start the application, it downloads the latest content to your phone (if you have a live internet connection), so you can read the content from there even without the internet.
It can be useful to "store" the phone at home in the morning (after 5-6 hours), so we can already read our favorite things on the bus and metro.
Obviously, this is not true for services that require a constant internet connection. Eg online radio, videos, etc.

Some readable materials can be saved to favorites.
Since older offline content stored on your phone is periodically replaced with new ones, if you want to keep something for a longer period of time, you may want to save it as a favorite or email it to yourself.

Some readable materials can be shared with pre-installed or factory applications on your phone, e.g. e-mail.

You can adjust the font size in the settings.
How many items are stored on the phone (offline database). This will prevent this application from taking up too much space on your phone.
Alternatively, you can delete your favorites and offline database here. The latter, of course, is recharged when you connect to the Internet for the first time, but only with the latest material.
You can set which pages appear in the application.

The contact page has contact information for developers who are open to any ideas, wishes and comments.
The app has social sites and a web version too! So it's not a reason not to have someone else's phone;)
