HOT-PASS (Hot Work Permit System) is an internal application developed for the North Eastern Railway, Mechanical Workshop, Gorakhpur, to digitise the issue, approval and monitoring of hot work permits for coach and wagon maintenance operations.
The application replaces manual, paper-based permit registers with a secure, role-based digital workflow. It helps supervisors, SSEs, officers and the CWM raise, route, approve and track hot work permits — such as welding, gas cutting and grinding — while maintaining a complete, auditable record of every operation.
Key features:
• Request and issue hot work permits against specific coaches, shops and work types
• Role-based approval flow for SSE In-Charge, Section Supervisors, Officers and CWM
• Coach IN/OUT lifecycle tracking across the workshop
• Officer and CWM oversight dashboards with workshop-wide visibility
• Incident reporting and attachment support for safety documentation
• Site and shop-level permission management
• Reports and analytics on permit activity, durations and status
HOT-PASS is intended for authorised railway workshop personnel only. Access requires valid credentials issued by the workshop administration.
