BUG is a cyclist safety app. It was created based on one simple reality: cyclists are the most vulnerable road users, yet the least equipped to protect themselves.
It's not just a distance tracker. BUG is designed to answer three real-world questions cyclists face on the road: which way is safe, what to do if something happens, and how not to ride alone.
SOS EMERGENCY BUTTON
Press it once, and your location is immediately sent to your registered emergency contact, followed by a call to the police emergency number. There's also an on-screen guide with a ready-to-read text and your coordinates, for those times when panic makes it difficult to form words.
The app also keeps you informed without prompting. If you don't move for five minutes while recording, BUG asks you a question with a countdown. If you don't answer, your location is sent automatically.
TRANS AND HAZARD ZONE MAP
A map that marks accident-prone areas, potholes, and safe paths for cyclists. You can report your findings on the trail, and your report will be reviewed by an admin before it appears.
Route recommendations create a circular route of your desired distance, following bike-friendly roads. Each route is double-checked against mapped hazard zones, and if any are encountered, warnings are clearly stated along with the location name.
RECORD YOUR RIDE
Record your distance, time, speed, and route footprint. Recording continues even when the screen is off, with notifications always visible during an active session.
The results can be used as a shareable ride card, with nine display options. Your favorite routes can be saved, replayed, reused, and shared via a link.
MOTOR BUDDY
Share your ride with your family through a single link. They can see your location without needing to install any apps. Useful for early morning rides or less-traveled routes.
GROUP RIDE EVENTS
Request an event, mark the route on the map, and designate checkpoints where the group will regroup. Once approved by the admin, the event appears with warnings about dangerous areas on the route and cycling etiquette, compiled by the system based on the route's length, departure time, and zones covered.
Event posters can be shared, complete with maps, routes, and QR codes for joining. During the event, the app guides you to turn directions and records your journey.
ROAD-SHARING EDUCATION
Short modules include interactive quizzes on road-sharing etiquette, blind spots for large vehicles, night riding, groups, cyclists' legal rights, and bicycle maintenance. They are grouped according to their target audience: cyclists, motorcyclists, or both.
WITH OTHER CYCLISTS
Find and follow other cyclists, see their achievements, and share moments through Stories. Rides can be marked as collaborations for those riding with you, and each person gets their own trip log.
The leaderboard counts consecutive days, not just distance, with a two-day interval so that one day off doesn't erase weeks of effort.
CAN BE USED THROUGHOUT INDONESIA
BUG was born in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, but isn't tied to it. Your region is detected by your location or your choice, then the map, place search, and safety dashboard adapt accordingly.
No ads. No data sales. Location is only recorded during sessions you initiate.
