AKAS, or South Sumatran Ulu Script Application, is an intelligent application that is able to recognize and convert images or letters from the South Sumatran Ulu script into Latin script. AKAS can recognize characters from camera photos, handwriting, or images uploaded to the application. Apart from that, this application can also convert alphabet text into the South Sumatran Ulu script.
Designed for convenience and speed, AKAS allows users to easily decipher text in both word and paragraph form. With this feature, the AKAS application helps preserve the South Sumatran Ulu script by making it easier for users to read and write the script. This application is also equipped with several useful educational menus, such as a list of the Ulu script and information on the history of the South Sumatra Ulu script.
This application was developed by the Bina Darma University Intelligent Systems Research Group team in collaboration with the South Sumatra Culture and Tourism Service, the South Sumatra Ulu Script Lovers Community, and the South Sumatra Archives Service. AKAS is available for free and can be used by anyone who wants to know more about the South Sumatran Ulu script.
