About this app

This is an unofficial statistical tool. It does not represent any government entity, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Irish Department of Justice, the Irish Immigration Service, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, or any government agency.

Processing.ie estimates when your own application is likely to be processed for three Irish immigration tracks:

- Long-stay visa decisions
- Employment permit applications
- Irish Residence Permit (IRP) renewals

How it works

The app fits a linear regression to the last 30 days of officially published progress on the relevant government pages and uses it to estimate the snapshot date on which your application date will be reached. Each historical pair "(snapshot date, processing-as-of date)" feeds the fit; your application date is the input.

Premium (optional, one-time purchase)

- Personal "N days to go" countdown on the home-screen widget, derived from your application date
- Widget refreshes itself daily in the background, so the countdown stays current without opening the app
- Processing-date alerts: an on-device notification when your estimate crosses your chosen reminder thresholds
- Removes the banner ad from the main screen

Privacy

- No analytics, no third-party SDKs beyond AdMob (for the optional banner) and Play Billing (for the optional Premium purchase).
- Your application date is stored locally on the device. It is not transmitted to any server.
- Cloud backup (Google Drive) and device-to-device transfer of your input are both disabled — uninstall wipes it, factory reset wipes it, switching phones requires re-entering.
- The only outbound network request is fetching three public JSON files from data.processing.ie, the same data the open website processing.ie uses.

What this is not

This app does not:

- Communicate with any government system or case file
- Tell you the actual decision on your application
- Submit applications or modify your case
- Provide legal or immigration advice

What’s new

Processing.ie is an unofficial statistical estimator that projects when your Irish visa decision, employment permit, or IRP renewal is likely to be processed, based on the last 30 days of officially published progress. A scatter plot shows how the estimate is derived from recent data, and a "How it works" page explains the method. An optional one-time Premium purchase adds a home-screen widget countdown and processing-date alerts, and removes ads. Everything is computed on your device.
