About this app

GECoS is the information system of the Regional Department of Civil Protection (resolution of the Regional Council n.338 of 26 September 2019) for the management of emergency and non-emergency events, civil protection notices, human and material resources. GECoS is in line with the dictates of the Three-Year Plan for IT in the Public Administration and is based on the web and the Cloud. In fact, it constitutes a virtual operations room within which active collaboration takes place between all the parties involved in the management of the Civil Protection activities of the Sicily Region.

Using a powerful integrated territorial information system, GECoS allows:

- the management of the activities necessary for the operation of the Civil Protection Service of the Sicilian Region in the typical phases of civil protection: preparation, prevention, emergency and recovery of damages;
- the communication and exchange of data between the actors involved in the regional civil protection service, such as the municipalities, the provincial operating rooms (SOPI);
- the coordination of missions and interventions having a shared operational vision, also from a geographical point of view, of the activities in place, of the resources available in the territory, of the surrounding conditions, without binding any of the actors to a single physical place.

GECoS Mobile is the APP that allows you to view the information residing in GECoS directly from your smartphone and to perform data reading operations even on the move.

Access to GECoS Mobile is NOT allowed to the public but only to operators registered on the GECoS platform.
