About this app

This app uses Colebrook implicit equation to calculate the friction factor in turbulent flow (and Hagen Poisuelle equation in laminar flow). You can use this to calculate the pressure drop OR the flow rate or pipe diameter. This assumes a Newtonian fluid and a cylindrical pipe.

This is a no-frills app. It does not access any data in your device, does not collect any data, and does not require internet connection to run. It is expected to display properly in devices of 6" or larger screen sizes. If you find any bugs, please inform me at srinivar@smail.iitm.ac.in or srinivar@iitm.ac.in.

Although I have taken reasonable care to ensure that the calculations are correct, there is no guarantee or warranty on the suitability of this app for any purpose. Neither I, nor my employer, IIT Madras can be held responsible for any issue arising out of using this app. If you do not agree to these conditions, you should uninstall this app from all your devices.

What's new

I created this app, for use in simple calculations in fluid mechanics class. This is a no-frills app. You can choose to find pressure (drop), or flow rate or pipe dia for a Newtonian fluid flowing in a straight pipe. No guarantees or warranties of any kind though! The app is free, it does not contain any advertisements. It will not access any information in your device.
If you find any bugs, please mail me : srinivar@iitm.ac.in and srinivar@smail.iitm.ac.in.
