Who we are
Wikids is a Hebrew knowledge portal specifically designed for Israeli youth aged 13-18. We believe that knowledge should be accessible, interesting and tailored to young people in Israel. Our project was born from a clear vision, to create a comprehensive and reliable source of knowledge that speaks their language and suits their level of understanding.
Most of the articles on Wikids are based on content from the Hebrew Wikipedia, which has undergone special processing, is translated into simpler language, shortened to the main information, and is specifically tailored for young people. We offer two levels of explanation: a full explanation for teenagers, and a simpler explanation for younger children.
Our goal
The main goal of Wikids is to make the world's largest encyclopedia, Wikipedia, and other data, accessible to young people in Israel. We want to be the first address that teenagers turn to when they are looking for information, whether it is for school work, test preparation, or just natural curiosity.
We strive to foster critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a love of learning. Each of our articles is structured so that it is not only informative, but also interesting, clear, and tailored precisely to the target age group.
