About this app

It's 8pm, your kid is finally winding down, and all they want is a good story before lights out. That's exactly what HelloParent's Bedtime Stories was built for — a library of 2,000+ bedtime stories for kids, sleep stories, fairy tales, and short stories, right inside the HelloParent app your child's school already uses.

We built this around how bedtime actually works for busy families. Some nights you need a five-minute story to get through a quick routine before the lights go off. Other nights, especially on weekends, there's time for something longer. The library covers both — short bedtime stories for the rushed nights, and longer fairy tales and story books for the slower ones.

Every story is narrated at a calm, unhurried pace, built specifically as a sleep story for kids rather than fast, over-stimulating content. That distinction matters more than it sounds like it should. A story meant to entertain during the day is paced completely differently than one meant to wind a child down for sleep, and every story here is designed with sleep as the actual goal, not just as a side effect.

You'll find fairy tales, animal stories, princess stories, adventure stories, and classic tales, organized so you can pick based on your child's mood that night rather than scrolling endlessly through an unsorted list. Stories are sized for different ages too, so toddler story time and story time for an eight-year-old both feel right for that particular child, instead of everything being generic and one-size-fits-all.

A consistent bedtime routine matters more than most parents realize, and a big part of what makes a routine stick is having it feel familiar rather than random every night. Coming back to the same app, at the same time, with a story your child gets to choose, does a lot of that work quietly in the background — it becomes part of the ritual itself, not just something layered on top of it.

Reading experts have pointed out for years that hearing stories regularly helps build vocabulary and listening comprehension, and that the benefit comes as much from the routine of it as from any single story. Bedtime stories don't have to feel like homework to do that. They just have to actually happen, night after night, without it turning into a fight to get there.

Download any story in advance and listen fully offline — useful on a road trip, during a flight, at a relative's house with spotty WiFi, or anywhere the internet isn't reliable. Nothing in this section is ad-supported, and every story is reviewed before it's added to the library, so you're never handing your child something unvetted or inconsistent in tone.

New stories are added every week, across every category, so story time doesn't start feeling repetitive after the first month the way it does with a lot of story apps once you've worked through the starter library. There's always something your child hasn't heard yet, whether that's a new fairy tale, a short bedtime story, or something from the growing collection of classic tales.

This feature lives inside the same HelloParent app your child's school already uses for updates, homework, and communication — so there's no new app to download, no new account to create, and nothing extra to manage. It's simply part of the app you already have installed, doing one more useful thing at the end of the day.

Parents who've tried it tend to mention the same two things: how much easier bedtime feels once there's a reliable go-to story on hand, and how relieved they are that it doesn't come with the ad interruptions or in-app purchase prompts a lot of "free" kids' apps quietly build in.

If bedtime has felt like a bit of a battle lately, or you're just looking for a better way to close out the day together, open HelloParent, tap Stories, and see what your child picks tonight. A better bedtime routine is already sitting in an app you've had installed all along — it just needed a story to go with it.

Very bad app. I purchased the monthly subscription for Stories, but after 15 days it started asking for payment again. we could read only 3 stories during the entire month because you can read only the current day's story. You cannot read the previous stories at all. Very disappointing and a complete waste of money.

The app is not reliable for tracking child attendance. It often shows incorrect in/out status—for example, showing my child has left when they are actually inside, which causes unnecessary panic. Additionally, my child’s details are incorrect, and even after emailing, no action has been taken. Parents depend on this app for accurate updates, but currently, it is not trustworthy. Please fix these issues immediately.

Hi. We understand your concern. But please note that these details are to be updated by the school authorities and the app has nothing to do with it. Once and when the school updates, they are visible to the parents. We hope this will help you revise the review and ratings again.
