Feludar Goyendagiri / Feluda Somogro is an impeccable work by Ray.

Pradosh Chandra Mitra alias Feluda is a popular fictional detective character in Bengali literature created by Satyajit Ray. Feluda's main assistant is his cousin Tapesh Ranjan Mitra alias Topse and the writer is Lalmohan Ganguly (pseudonym Jatayu). Ray was influenced by Sherlock Holmes' detective story as a child. So in many places with Feluda's character we find Holmes and Feluda's brother and assistant Topas resembling Holmes' assistant Watson.
