Student Café is a great new app for your phone to help you focus on your work while earning points that you can use in stores and businesses around campus. Every time you lock your phone to study, finish assignments, or meet with the study groups, you earn points. The more you study with your phone locked, the more points you will earn, and the sooner you can choose your own reward from any of the participating vendors.
When working with a group, all students can lock their phones and earn points. This will boost focus on each other and helps to build cooperation, interaction and keeps everyone engaged in the task. Work together to earn rewards and enjoy a coffee or a meal while you study or as a reward with your loyalty points—boost friendships with focused studying time. Phones are a significant distraction and can cause homework and other tasks to take longer lower marks being received.
Locking phones and avoiding distractions also helps groups of students to work together with better results and can build better working relationships and, in many cases, friendships. These in-person relationships and interactions have also been seen to improve mental health concerns and reduce depression and loneliness. Studying together will improve feelings of belonging and fitting into the environment, boosting the sense of community and fighting against the effects of stress.
Vendors bring in new customers by participating in our program. As students begin to use their point’s in-store, they will be entering the stores more often and trying a new business. As word of mouth spreads on positive experiences within stores, there will be additional customers from outside the school and from the surrounding area. People like to share their favorite coffee shop or restaurant with friends and will tell people where they find their favorite books or have their hair done or get the clothes that fit just right. As these are shared between students and then to others outside the school community, the businesses will see the positive effects
