Think of it like a tuner for chords. Play into your phone — or let it listen to music — and the Harmony Wheel names the chord, shows you how to play it, and, most importantly, tells you what that chord is doing in the key.

A guitar tuner tells you the note. This tells you the chord, and its function. You can hear when a chord does something — when it lifts, when it pulls you back home, when it takes you somewhere new. Naming what you just heard is the hard part. This does it, live, and trains your ear along the way.

It works on anything it can hear clearly enough to pull a chord out of the air: your instrument as you play, or music coming out of your speakers.
