Keep your smartphone. Remove the loopholes.
ClearHour is a hard-lock dumbphone mode for Android. It creates a Dumbphone OS experience on your existing phone: apps shown in your Apps list are blocked by default, real-life essentials stay available, and rules change only during your daily Clear Hour.
Set the rules when your mind is clear. ClearHour keeps them locked when temptation hits.
Default blocked. Essentials safe.
Your phone still works for real life. Calls, messages, contacts, alarms, calendar, camera, keyboard, emergency functions, and supported payment tools stay available.
Every other app must earn a Utility Slot or use Timed Access.
Choose only the apps you really need
Depending on your plan, choose 3, 5, or 8 Utility Slot apps that open normally.
Use your slots for maps, banking, messaging, music, ride-hailing, authenticators, work apps, or anything else you truly need. ClearHour does not decide what matters to you—you do.
Change rules only during Clear Hour
Choose one daily 1-hour window for changing your setup. During Clear Hour, you can edit Utility Slots, Timed Access, your Clear Hour time, and Uninstall Protection.
Outside that window, your rules stay locked. No impulsive changes when you are tired, bored, or tempted.
Tiny access. No endless scroll.
Need occasional access to a blocked app? Optional Timed Access gives one short 2–5 minute session.
All blocked apps share a limit of up to 3 session starts per hour. When time runs out, the app is blocked again. No extensions.
Recovery without an easy loophole
Recovery Pass gives you a limited 30-minute repair window when something goes wrong. It lets you fix your setup without freely opening blocked apps.
Impulse-uninstall protection
Optional Uninstall Protection adds an extra step to common uninstall paths outside Clear Hour. You can intentionally turn it off during Clear Hour or Recovery Pass.
Built for a real dumbphone life
ClearHour is for people who want a stricter app blocker, less screen time, and less doomscrolling—but still need a smartphone for modern life.
Use it for a digital detox or as your everyday dumbphone setup. ClearHour is not a flexible focus timer. It changes what your phone is allowed to be.
Important
ClearHour works on top of Android; it does not replace Android or install custom firmware. Protection depends on required Android permissions and device behavior, and cannot cover every system-level or manufacturer-specific removal path.
ClearHour uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to detect which app is open and show the protection screen. When optional Uninstall Protection is enabled, Accessibility also detects and interrupts supported uninstall or permission-removal attempts outside Clear Hour or Recovery Pass. Your installed app inventory is processed locally and is not transmitted.
Hard-lock Android into a dumbphone: keep essentials, block apps by default.
